Chuck Connors

No fan of TV westerns can forget Chuck Connors’ “Lucas McCain” on The Rifleman. Born Kevin Joseph Connors in Brooklyn, New York, the strapping 6”6” was a star athlete at Seton Hall University before becoming a major league baseball player with the Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. He also spent a season on Basketball’s Boston Celtics where his talent for performing monologues for his teammates far exceeded his contributions on the court.
