Danielle Harris and Scout Taylor-Compton team up for Last Chance Motel, a new slasher horror film they both wrote, directed, and star in. Known for their involvement in the Halloween franchise, the two filmmakers have created a blood-soaked story laced with black humor that pays homage to classic slashers while bringing a modern psychological edge to the genre.
The film follows a newlywed couple whose dream wedding turns into a blood-soaked nightmare. They soon discover that their secluded wedding venue, a desolate motel deep in the Nevada desert, is run by a family of psychopaths hiding dark secrets.
“We knew exactly what kind of film the genre is missing right now: a tight, mean, character-driven slasher…”, Harris said. “We’ve been on the receiving end of the camera for 40 years between us. We know what works. We know what fans actually want to see. Last Chance Motel is built from that DNA.”
Alongside Harris and Taylor-Compton, the cast includes Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Sierra McCormick (The Vast of Night), Zachary Roozen (Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence), Robert Allen Mukes (House of 1000 Corpses), Shane West (Salem), and Monica Keena (Freddy vs. Jason).
The official trailer for Last Chance Motel is now available, while the film will be released directly on digital platforms in the U.S. on October 6, 2026.
